Terms of Service
The agreement between you and the provider of Maude Cloud — what you get, what you pay, what happens when you stop paying, and what happens to your work when you leave.
Last updated: 4 November 2026
1. Who you are contracting with
Maude Cloud is operated by:
Bc. Michal Dovrtěl Houbalova 2088/5, Líšeň, 628 00 Brno, Czech Republic IČO (company registration number): 03387666 Registered in the Czech Trade Licensing Register since 10 September 2014.
Referred to below as "we", "us", the "provider". Contact: cloud@maude.sh, phone +420 774 252 025. Security reports: security@maude.sh.
The Maude software itself is open source under the MIT licence and is not covered by these terms — you may run it yourself, for free, forever. These terms cover only the hosted service at cloud.maude.sh.
2. What the service is
A project is one hosted workspace with its own address, its own people, and its own design system. It stores and synchronises your design files and their history, and it hands them back on demand.
It does not render your designs. Rendering happens on your own computer, in the Maude desktop app. This is a technical property of the service, not a policy — see Trust for the mechanisms.
What you need, and what it costs you elsewhere
Using Maude Cloud requires things we do not sell you:
- a desktop computer (macOS or Windows) — not a phone or a tablet;
- the free Maude desktop app;
- for AI-assisted design, your own Claude subscription, purchased from Anthropic. It is billed by Anthropic, on their terms, and we neither resell it nor receive any part of it.
We state this before you reach a payment form. If you did not want it stated, the trial is how you find out cheaply.
3. Your account and your people
You are responsible for who you invite and what they do with the access you gave them. Roles are enforced by the service — an owner holds billing and deletion, a member can change designs, a viewer can look, comment and download.
Removing somebody stops new access immediately and existing sessions within the window the removal screen states before you confirm it. We do not hide that number.
You must be at least 18, or have the authority to bind the organisation you are acting for.
4. Money
- Prices are shown before you enter card details, in euros, and they exclude VAT. Customers in the United States pay the same figure in US dollars. You are charged in exactly that currency: the checkout does not convert the price into your local currency.
- Who sells you the subscription. Payment, VAT and invoicing are handled through Stripe Managed Payments by our reseller and merchant of record, Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link, LLC), a Stripe affiliate. You buy the subscription from them under their Buyer Terms. Your use of Maude Cloud is governed by these terms. Checkout, receipts and invoices show "Sold through Link", and your card statement shows
LINK.COM*followed by a short descriptor. They calculate and add your country's VAT, collect it and remit it, so the total on the payment screen is higher than the listed price. That total is shown to you before you enter a card. A Czech customer on the €19 plan pays €22.99. Supply a valid business VAT id and reverse charge applies instead. - The provider is not itself registered for VAT in the Czech Republic. Under the merchant-of-record arrangement above, that does not change what you are charged.
- Trial. A new project is free for 14 days. If you start it through checkout, your card is saved and checked but not charged. Unless you cancel before the trial ends, the plan you chose starts automatically on the date shown at checkout. It is charged then, and at every renewal after that. You are reminded by email before the trial ends. If you start a free project from the desktop app, no card is needed, and nothing is charged until you choose a plan. If you choose a plan without a trial, you are charged straight away. See If you are a consumer: withdrawal.
- We charge only for a project that actually came up. If provisioning fails or times out, the card is not charged. This is enforced in code, not by our good intentions.
- Renewal. Subscriptions renew automatically at the interval you chose (monthly or yearly), on the same day each period, until cancelled. You can stop renewal at any time, see section 6.
- Price changes. We tell you at least 30 days before a new price applies. It applies from your next renewal, and you may cancel before then at no cost.
- Payments are processed by Lemon Squeezy (Sold through Link) and Stripe. We never see or store your card number.
- We ask for your address, and optionally your VAT id, because they belong on the invoice and because they decide what tax treatment applies. Supplying an incorrect VAT id is your responsibility.
5. If a payment fails
A failed payment is a conversation, not a switch:
- The project keeps running while we retry and contact you.
- If it is still unpaid after the grace period stated on your billing page, the project pauses. Pausing stops the workspace; it does not delete anything.
- Before any teardown, a complete copy of your work is prepared and offered to you. The service cannot reach a deleted state except through that step — it is a state machine, not a promise.
- Data is retained for the period stated on the billing and cancellation screens, and the countdown is shown to you on screen and by email before it runs out.
6. Cancelling and leaving
You can cancel at any time from your project's billing page: choose Manage billing, which opens the customer portal hosted by Stripe, and cancel your subscription there. You can also cancel at link.com, where the seller of record manages your subscription.
Cancelling takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Renewal stops, and the project keeps working until that period ends. The portal may ask you for a reason. It is optional. The billing page tells you, before you cancel, the date the project keeps working until, the date it pauses, and the date the data is deleted.
In the same portal you can see your invoice history, update your payment method, and update your name, email address, billing address and tax id. Switching plans is not done there.
You can download everything at any time, including while a project is paused or past due. The copy is yours to keep forever, and taking it changes nothing about your project.
You can delete a project yourself. Deletion is only offered once a complete copy exists, and when you confirm it we stop billing, detach the address, and erase the stored data.
Refunds
Cancelling stops the next renewal. It does not refund the period you have already paid for, and we do not refund an annual plan pro rata when you cancel part-way through. The project keeps working until the end of the period. The exception is the consumer right of withdrawal below. It is a separate legal right, it always applies, and you do not have to cancel first to use it. If a payment was taken in error, or the service did not work for you, write to cloud@maude.sh and we will look at it fairly.
7. What we may do
We may suspend a project without notice if it is being used to break the law, to attack somebody, or to distribute malware, and we will tell you why. We may change these terms. We tell you by email at least 30 days before a change takes effect. If a change materially disadvantages you, you may cancel before it takes effect, and we refund the unused part of the current period.
We may change subprocessors with notice, as recorded in the Data Processing Addendum.
8. What we do not promise
The service is provided as is. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free. There is no uptime SLA on the standard plans; if one is offered on a plan, it is stated on that plan.
To the extent Czech law permits, our aggregate liability for any claim is limited to the fees you paid in the twelve months before it arose. Nothing here limits liability for death, personal injury, fraud, or anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
If you are a consumer, nothing in this section limits your statutory rights when the service does not conform to the contract.
You keep every right in your designs. We claim no licence beyond what is technically necessary to store, sync, back up and hand back your files at your instruction.
9. Law
Czech law. Courts of the Czech Republic. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of protections you have where you live. Consumers may also bring proceedings in the courts where they live.
For out-of-court resolution of a consumer dispute you may contact the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Praha 2, adr.coi.cz, which is the competent ADR body.
If you are a consumer: withdrawal
If you buy as a consumer in the EU, you may withdraw from the contract within 14 days of concluding it, without giving a reason.
- If you started with a free trial, the trial covers that period. Cancel before the trial ends and you pay nothing.
- If you chose a plan that starts immediately, you asked us to start the service before the 14 days end. If you withdraw, we refund what you paid minus a proportionate amount for the days you used.
Withdrawing within 14 days is not the same as cancelling at the end of the billing period. Cancelling stops renewal. Withdrawing ends the contract and gets you a refund as described here.
To withdraw, send us a clear statement, for example using the model withdrawal form, to cloud@maude.sh. We confirm by email and refund within 14 days through the original payment method. See also Withdrawal and refunds.
Consumers and businesses
A consumer is a person buying for purposes outside their trade or profession. The withdrawal right, the ADR route and the conformity wording above are for consumers. The liability cap in section 8, the DPA and VAT reverse charge are for businesses.
